Following Etiquette is the best way to enjoy your time
at 3 Mile FREE Clothing Optional Beach:
1. Stay on designated trails.
Stay off the cliff faces
and any other environmentally - sensitive areas.
2. Stay out of private property. BC. Coastal Jurisdiction.
3.No biking on the Beach.
Visitors may however walk their bikes onto beach.
4. Obey parking regulations and signs or your car will be towed!
Please be aware the Parking Lots are NOT clothing-optional Areas.
5. Love your beach/hike environment by packing out what you pack in.
Shells from sunflower, pitachios, peanuts or the like, do not mix well with sand and bare feet.
Leave only your footprints and laughter!
6. Bring only cans or recyclable containers.
Take them home with you
Leave your glass bottles at home!
Broken glass and bare feet don’t mix!
City garbage container in parking /entrance area.
7. Show the public that nude is not lewd or rude.
No overt sexual activity!
Ask the community members for support with violators,
or RCMP [(250) 492-4300] for assistance.
8. Prevent destruction of driftwood and forest; fires are illegal at 3 mile Free C.O. Beach!
9. Get nude! Respect nudity and the privacy of others and experience the joys of naturism!
Gawking, staring, or making rude comments is Not appreciated!
If nudity offends you, please check out the Okanagan’s many other beautiful beaches.
10. Ask prior permission to photograph.
No unauthorized film-making!
11. Use earphones when you are enjoying your radio or tape player.
No generators, spot lights, or loud amplifiers, please!
12. Protect and respect the ecosystem (habitats) and the wildlife such as Skinks, Snakes, Gulls, Herons, Eagles, rare painted swamp Turtles, Plants and other living members of the Ecosystem.
13. Speak up for standards;
if a person is unaware of the etiquette, please explain it quietly and politely.
14. Take care of children; they need special care.
Know where they are and make sure they … and you … have enough water, shade, and sun protection. (minimum SPF 15 is recommended)
Know both your location and the location of a sick or injured person on the beach if calling 9-1-1 for an emergency.
15. When at the beach:
Take due care and caution when swimming and boating;
no lifeguards are on duty and irresponsible boaters and jet skiers
DO NOT MIX with small children, swimmers, and kayakers who are not always easily visible.
16. Camping is illegal. RCMP and community Security patrol throughout the summer.
15. No dogs allowed on the North Public beach area or you may be fined.
Dogs and crowds don’t mix.
*Responsible dog owners are recommended to use the PUBLIC FORESHORE, past the Public Beach area.
Three mile point South Bay, also has a Clothed Dog area.
